Allegory of the age of majority of Prince William V at the age of eighteen on 8 March 1766 and his installation as stadholder. The prince is abandoned as Telemachus by his mentor Minerva and led by Time (with a belt on which the number XVIII) to the Dutch Virgin as personification of the Republic. Sitting by a monument with the inscription Educatio Pia, she offers him the symbols of the Stadhouderijke Dignity. On the sheet under the plate a caption in Latin and Dutch followed by an Interpretation.
