Arrangement of the department of Dutch history at sea in room 171-173 in 1931, 1931 Canvas Print
Room 171-173 seen to the west. Redesign for the permanent exhibition the History of the Sea. In this image, rooms 172 and 173 are in particular in sight. The ship models are placed on tables in a test set-up. The exhibition was opened on 24 October 1931. The vault, the columns and the two passageways belong to the original design of these spaces. The walls and vaults are whitewashed with the help of the vaults and the girdle arches, so that the original paintings are largely hidden from view.
