Beer mug, anonymous, c. 1640 - c. 1660 Canvas Print
Beer mug of serpentine stone with silver lid and ear. Around the foot a silver frame, around the body two flat silver bands. The coat of arms of Wassenaar (with heart shield Duvenvoirde) is engraved on the lid within a wreath of leaves. Probably made for Arent van Wassenaar Duvenvoirde, Lord of Duvenvoirde (1610-1681) or his son Jacob (1649-1707). Passed to the Torck family via the granddaughter of the last Jacoba Maria (1709-1771), married to Frederik Willem Torck (1691-1761); later inherited to the Van Pallandts. Silver unmarked.
