Bergpoort in the garden on the west side of the Rijksmuseum, 1890 - 1895 Canvas Print

The Bergpoort or Deventerpoort is set up in the back of your line with the Herenpoort from Groningen. They were placed in 1886 at the Jan Luykenstraat. The guns were removed in 1917. Next to it are old cannons that the Navy Yard donated in 1888 and The Department of War in 1891 and 1893. The statue of Juno in the foreground was bought by the museum in 1886 from the marble worker Philips and was attributed to Rombout Verhulst. The walks were later transferred to the Navy Museum in Den Briel. Mountain gate in the garden on the west side of the museum, right before that garden statue (Juno) in the foreground cannons
