Blue wave, Takeuchi Seihô, 1905 Canvas Print
A painting in ink and colours on silk, of waves bursting onto a rock. Mounted as a hanging roller with a mount of a chumawashi of blue brocade with a floral pattern, ichimonji and futai of beige gold brocade with a floral pattern, jo and ge of light gray silk. The rolled-up painting is in a wooden box with a loose lid with an extra lid of paper in a larger box of wood with dark red lacquerwork and a vertical sliding lid. In the smallest box are two closed bags of paper with unknown fragrant contents. One bag is white, one bag is green.
