Bust of William IV, Jan Baptist Xavery, 1733 Canvas Print
The prince has the head three-quarters to the right, wears a wig, some of which hangs up to the back and is tied together by a bow at the neck. Over a thin, finely pleated shirt with jabot, of which only the lobed top edge of the inner lining is visible, a kuras. From the left shoulder hangs obliquely the hermeline-lined cloak, under which the ribbon of the Order of the Garter is partly hidden. the corresponding decoration with HONI [SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE] is partially visible on the mantle, which is closed from the front by a clay and depends on either side of the pedestal. The image ends above the elbows and passes into a profiled pedestal at the waist.
