Man in heavy mourning. According to the accompanying text, he wears a habit of sheet, without buttons on the bearings and pockets, (mourning costume for the summer) with six buttons on the front parts. To his left side a degen, decorated with a black crepe. Shoes from castor. The buckles on the garters and the shoes are made of bronze. A long tie (cravate) falls over the jabot of the shirt. Cuffs and jabot are from batist. Under the arm a large hat, topped with black crepe. The print is part of the 18th Cahier from Cabinet des Modes ou les Modes Nouvelles. The series consists of 72 fashion prints, published by Buisson, Paris, November 15, 1785 - November 1, 1786.
