Lady in half mourning, walking with a walking stick. The accompanying text describes her as a 'femme de la plus haute qualité ' that was spotted 'a few days ago' in the Jardin des Tuileries. She is dressed in a redingote of grey-and-white taf silk with three collars falling over each other, sleeves 'a la Marinière' and a bag on each side. Front and collars are trimmed with black band. Bodice and skirt in the same color as the redingote, also trimmed with black band. Accessory notes include hat with black ribbon, long walking stick that the ladies use on the morning walk. (for sale at Madame Renard, Marchande de Canne, rue Saint-Honoré). The print is part of the 21st Cahier from the series Cabinet des Modes ou les Modes Nouvelles. The series consists of 72 fashion prints, published by Buisson, Paris, November 15, 1785 - November 1, 1786.
