Caricatures of Amsterdammers as a man dressed in a harness made up of triktrakbord, playing cards etc. seated on a Rhineland wine barrel and armed with a clattering syringe, on the left a screaming man with rattle and flag of Amsterdam, on the right a man with glasses, book and coffee pot, sitting on a barrel with the imperial weapon and referred to as Deduction. On the ground are the coats of arms of various cities (including Leiden and Haarlem).
