The devil stands on a cloud of smoke, here is a globe and pliers. To the left of a table a man with a glass of wine, a lute player and a young woman. Behind the painter a fool with a top hat, big collar and big nose. Behind it is a man with a model of a castle. On the right, a Dutch sailor with a fur hat in hand looks on. In the caption a verse of twice five lines. The verse speaks of a meeting of the brotherhood of the red cross [the Rose Cruisers or Rose Cruisers], the clothing of two of the persons is decorated on the sleeve with a cross. The performance probably relates to the poet Mattheus Gansneb Tengnagel.
