Catching cockles, Mekichi, c. 1790 Canvas Print
A man with a child watch as another child fishes cockles out of the water with a net. In the boat a mountain of cockles and a wooden bucket with pampas grass. This print was made by three different designers: Mekichi designed the boat with shells, Tsutsumi Seppô the figures in the boat and Settan designed the fishing boy.
