Chain of the Guild of Saint Hubert, anonymous, c. 1542 Canvas Print

Schuttersketen of a St. Hubertusgilde (probably The Hague), gilded and partly enamelled. Ten links have the shape of a deer antler between which a double cross (for Saint Hubert). These links alternate with ten others, which consist of the connected letters SH, the initials of the Saint. On one of them is engraved in Gothic letters "PIRNEYS JACOB ZOE" (son), possibly the creator of the necklace. On the front twice five coats of arms, each inside a deer antler; one of these shields is enamelled, on the reverse side is "I Village 1581" engraved. On the reverse of another shield: "the Glarges 1580". The two front are from the families of Swieten and Blois (the latter with caption "J. Comes-Invidia"); they are larger and equipped with helmet, helmet sign and tarpaulins. The others cannot be identified (partly due to the inaccurate representation). Adherence: a large antler of silver around the enamelled coat of arms of Arend van Dorp with helmet, helmet sign and tarpaulins; underneath, on two chains, a deer in a fence, in shape similar to the Dutch Garden, with outside two hunting dogs that attack it.
