Chasuble of yellow silk satin with embroidery, anonymous, c. 1800 - c. 1849 Canvas Print

Chasuble with embroidery of silk on yellow silk satin. The decoration consists of flowers, tendrils, leaves, hares and lambrequin motifs. The chasuble is part of a couple (BK-2008-176-A to E). Paraments from St. Franciscus Xaveriuskerk 't Zand in Amersfoort, according to tradition by Baroness Van Stoutenburg of the castle Stoutenburg near Amersfoort donated to the church in the form of a wedding gown and then entertained into paraments. On the basis of the direction of fabric and the nature and direction of the ornament, it seems to be rather originally a tablecloth or beddedek.
