Collar with the coat of arms of Nassau, anonymous, 1689 Canvas Print
The object cut from a plate consists of a strip in which an eye is soldered at one end and in the other three openings are arranged, which fit on it. Along the edge, two by two round holes have been made. The band has an engraved decoration consisting of a coat of arms with a crown of graves, surrounded by symmetrical tendrils of acanthus leaf. The coat of arms is quartered: 1 a climbing lion, 2 vertically and diagonally shaded, 3 a incised partially shaded crossbar (?), 4 two moving lions. On either side of the shield B and S and THE COAT OF ARMS OF NASSOV * 1689. The coat of arms is attributed to Anna Isabella van Beijeren van Schagen (d. 1716). The holes in the band probably indicate that it was originally sewn on leather or other material. The tire has no eye to attach a chain.
