Commemorative album with photographs of Surabaya, various makers, c. 1906 Canvas Print
Photo album in band of blue plush with on the front cover the German title, applied by hand. The reddish-brown bracts have a grain motif. The album contains ten album sheets with twenty photos of streets, ports, buildings and squares in Surabaya, all with captions. One photo is separately in the album and probably did not belong to the original selection. Each album magazine has drawn border decorations of Mrs. H. van den Steen, who, according to a caption on the last page, donated this album to someone on December 30, 1906. She signed the decorated album sheets alternately with the monogram HS or with her name in full.
