On the left Willem van Oranje accompanied by the personifications Eer (Honor), Wealth (Divitiae) and Wise Council (Prud. Cons.). Right Alva between Valsheid (Fallacia) and Envy (Invidia). He feeds the Dutch Virgin (Belgica) naked and handcuffed to the arm. At his feet the People (Plebs) as a poor beggar. In the background the Spanish Fury in Antwerp. At the bottom two verses of 8 lines each in Dutch and French with two small scenes on either side from the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt, the celebration of Passover (left) and the passage through the Red Sea.
