The fire in the Old Town Hall of Amsterdam and some adjacent buildings on July 7, 1652. To illustrate the old and new way of putting out fires. On the left, buckets and ladders are used to try to extinguish the fire, on the right the fire is fought with fire sprayers. With handwritten four-line caption in Dutch and French and handwritten letters on the performance. Later states (with the letter) are plate 3 in the Brandspuitenboek by Jan van der Heyden.
