Bell-shaped lidded cup and saucer made of porcelain, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, green, yellow, brown, black and gold. On the plate of the saucer a symbolic representation with three putti, one of which blows soap bubbles through a pipe; in front of them a wicker basket, pyramid, skull, mask, crown, globe, books and other objects; the edge with a band of leaf vines and two radiant suns with a face. Depiction after a drawing by Jacob de Wit (1695-1754), 'Allegory of impermanence'. Matching lid has number AK-NM-13814. Two cracks in the wall of the saucer; a crack in the wall of the head. European representation in enamel colours.
