Drinking horn from the Amsterdam Company of Arquebusiers, Arent Cornelisz Coster (attributed to), 1547 Canvas Print

The drinking horn consists of a buffalo horn that is clamped in the middle in a silver carrier and has a silver frame at both ends. The stretched four-pass,curvaceous base of the carrier has a wide, flat lower edge. The multiple profiled wall rejuvenates slightly and at the top turns into a slightly curved ground in which a pattern of extremely fine pits is punched. On it is rooted a naturalistic tree, the trunk of which is punched with a pattern of fine grooves. On the ground there are some imposed grasses and a plant around the tree. The crown of the tree with pointed jagged jagged leaves includes the dense underside of the frame in which the horn is clamped. The tree is held by a dragon and a lion, both standing on the hind legs and with twisted tors bodies. The upper part of the frame is openwork on both sides with asymmetrical leaf vines. It is crowned by the Dutch lion, standing on two reclining coats of arms of the city of Amsterdam, both of which are worn by a bird's claw (symbol of the Kloveniersgilde). The frame has multiple profiled edges, as well as the wide silver band around the drinking mouth of the horn, which is finished at the bottom with a pointed serrated edge. The silver frame at the tip of the horn has the shape of a dragon's head, the neck of which is engraved with flower vines. This frame is closed by an imposed serrated edge.
