Embroidery with allegorical representation of Claudius Civilis with freedom and abundance, Louise van Ommeren-Hengevelt, after 1784 - before 1806 Canvas Print

A Batavian clad in fur is honoured by the personification of freedom that holds a laurel wreath in her left hand and a long lance in her right hand with a freedom hat on it. The personification of abundance is kneeling to the left of these two figures by a cornucopia (a basket of flowers and fruit). The three people are placed in a hilly landscape with a single tree on the left with broken off and bare branches and in the offing a group of trees full of leaves. On a separate piece of fabric, a caption is embroidered and then mounted on the fabric with the embroidered representation.
