Fable of the Young Man and the Swallow, Aegidius Sadeler, 1608 Canvas Print
A young man, dressed only in a shirt, finds a dead swallow in his path. The fable describes how a young bum sees a swallow in the air. He considers the swallow a harbinger of warm weather and therefore sells his clothes, outside his shirt. Later, the youngster finds the swallow frozen to death along the road. The moral of the story teaches that one should not judge lightly and think before acting.
