Gabriel Grub is a fictional character in The Pickwick Papers, written by Charles Dickens in 1836. Grub is the literary forerunner of Ebenezer Scrooge and the story bears many similarities to A Christmas Carol. Grub has been kidnapped by the king of the gnomes to his underground hideout. There he is said to see scenes that change his feelings about humanity and the Christmas party for the better. On the left side of the corner is the narrator of the story with children around him.
