Hat, anonymous, c. 1650 - c. 1699 Canvas Print
Hat or 'montero' of floral pink and silver silk brokaat with two storages, trimmed with ostrich or marabou beans. On label: 'farmer's hat worn on the Veluwe.' Model: sphere consisting of four fries (parts) and made up of a layer of thick, black painted and waxed linen above which cream-colored paper (the brocade is beaten around it), then indigo blue woolen felt and a black silk lining. The whole is assembled with coarse stitches of blue linen and brown rope. Decoration: in the middle of the sphere a wooden knot wrapped with silver or gold thread around a silk core. In the middle back rolled up brown/black silk ribbon and brown/white linen band.
