The palace was sold as part of the Prussian fiefdoms in Holland by Frederick the Great to Anna of Hanover on 21 February 1754. Anna of Hanover bought the Prussian fiefdoms in Holland as a whole for f. 700,000 for the benefit of her then five-year-old son hereditary stadtholder William V. Honselaarsdijk Palace made them available to her daughter Princess Carolina.
