Intake of Lille, 1708, Johann August Corvinus, 1712 - 1715 Canvas Print
Siege from 22 August and capture of Lille by the Allies under Prince Eugenius of Savoy on 23 October 1708; the castle was captured on 8 December. The central representation of the siege encased in a richly decorated ornamental ornament frame with a cartouche at the top with a map of the city. At the bottom a cartouche with the description of the events in German. Bottom right the radiant shield with the monogram CR of Carolus Rex.
