Standing woman dressed in a merino wool gown decorated with pleated strips of fabric above which is a 'rouleaux' of satin. Below a long pair of pants (bloomers?). On the head a velvet hat lined with satin. Boots of 'satin turc'. Further accessories: gloves, handkerchief, lorgnet. Figure in the same gown, seen on the back. According to the caption, this costume was drawn in the Tuileries in Paris. The print is part of the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Pierre de la Mésangère, Paris, 1797-1839.
