Jug with chip carving and flowers, anonymous, c. 1650 - c. 1675 Canvas Print
Jug of stoneware on high base with a pear-shaped body and wide neck. The C-shaped ear is attached to the neck and abdomen. Profile on the edge and engraved lines on the shoulder, abdomen and foot, encased in a pewter band. Covered with a brown engobe. On the abdominal notchcut with at the top and bottom a band of semicircals with notched cut. Above the foot a band with medallions and on the neck and ear a band with stamped, small flowers. Attached to the ear a pewter frame with lid. The lid has a wavy edge and beaten flowers. Freiberg.
