French lady, seen on the back, in amazon sits on a horse. On the head a hat of velvet. She wears a fashionable amazon costume or rich costume with a 'jabot toùrnant'(?). Whip in hand. Print from the fashion magazine La Belle Assemblée, or Bell's Court and Fashionable Magazine Addressed Particularly to the Ladies (1806-1832). According to the caption, the engraving is after an original drawing, which was made on the spot at Longchamps Elysées in Paris for La Belle Assemblée. However, the print is a copy after Pl. 611, 15 Janvier 1805, from the fashion magazine Journal des Dames et des Modes, published by Pierre de la Mésangère, Paris, 1797-1839.
