Lidded Jar, anonymous, c. 1700 - c. 1720 Canvas Print

Egg-shaped lidded jar of porcelain, painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, yellow, eggplant and black. On the wall a fenced garden with two cranes, one standing and one on the fence, near a pond with lotus plants, a rock and a flowering tree (magnolia). Around the pond flowering plants (chrysanthemum, beautiful carnation, peony, aster, lily) and two flower pots with pine, bamboo and orange. In the magnolia tree a parrot on a rack. On the right two flying birds. On the shoulder napkin work interspersed with flower branches in cartouches. The lid was later made in the same style with underglaze blue from Delft earthenware. The top with flowering plants and birds; the edge with a band of napkin interrupted by lobed cartouches with flower branches. Famille verte.
