Makelaarsstokje van F.A. Gluysteen, broker in Amsterdam, widow H. de Groot, c. 1837 Canvas Print
The baluster-shaped, multi-profiled ebony stick has a wide and a narrow end, both encased in a cast silver cap. The caps have a straight, smooth wall and a slightly rolled, slightly protruding top, the edge of which is marked with a fine cable. The large cap is embossed with the crowned, lion-held city coat of arms of Amsterdam, the small one with the letters MKLRSG in monogram within a pearl border for the Amsterdam Real Estate Guild. On the wall of the small cap is the year 1837 engraved, above a circular fillet edge; on the wall of the large cap the name Frederik Anthony Gluysteen, above a circular fillet edge.
