Model of a 24-Pounder Breech-Loading Gun, Petrus van der Loo, 1863 Canvas Print
Model of a rear loading cannon on a stand, with loading stick, incomplete. The barrel, long 47.5 cm, has a caliber of approx. 25 mm. The soul has a leaden cloak, which is heavily corroded. The spat can be opened by a threaded conical capstone, which rotates in the soul and is operated with a lever at the back. The loading stick indicates the use of point grenades, but any grooves in the soul can no longer be observed due to the corrosion. Some parts of the closure mechanism are missing. Scale 1:6 (according to Obreen).
