Model of a Carriage for a 30-Pounder Carronade, Rijkswerf Hellevoetsluis, 1854 Canvas Print

Model of a sliding spout for a 30-pound carronade with baking iron and adjusting wedge. The body consists of two beams in longitudinal direction with fittings and rings, located on two heavy crossbars. The longitudinal beams are rounded at the front; on top are the ears with tapas on the front and behind batter with the track for the eleveer screw. In the middle, two slats are placed diagonally over the beams, between which an asymmetrical stelwig runs. The crossbars protrude outside the longitudinal beams for extra stability and stand on friction gaps to limit the recuul. Two small rollers on a hinge against the back can use the baking iron to raise the back of the affuit; the affuit rests on two wooden rollers, which are fitted in front of the front crossbar, and is thus easy to roll on board. Scale 1:5 (derived).
