Model of a Carriage for a 36-Pounder Carronade, Rijkswerf Amsterdam, 1839 Canvas Print

Model of a sliding spout for a 30-pound carronade. The forward body consists of two cheeks with fittings and rings, with two very heavy wooden blocks in between. The cheeks have a curved top and an elliptical-shaped cutout below. On top of the front intermediate block are the ears with tapas, on the rear fittings with the track for the eleveer screw. The affuit rests on frictional lumps under the cheeks, to limit the recuul. Two small rollers on a hinge against the back can jack up the back of the affuit with the help of the baking iron; the affuit therefore rests on two rollers, which are arranged in front of the front crossbar, and is thus easy to roll on board. Scale 1:5 (Obrene).
