Model of a Water Gauge, anonymous, 1845 - 1855 Canvas Print
Model of a water level glass for steam boilers. The glass tube is encased in a copper tube. At both ends, a crane with a flange is fitted at right angles to this; the lower one was connected to the water and the upper one to the steam. At the bottom there is a third tap, for cleaning and other purposes; the top end is closed with a nut. All gaskets are lead. With this gauge glass, the boiler water level was checked.
