Model of Two Congreve Rockets with Launching Gear, anonymous, c. 1810 - c. 1840 Canvas Print
Model of two fire missiles on a launcher or chair, for use on land. Made of dark wood. The missiles themselves consist of a pointed cylinder to which the side is attached a long stabilization stick. The chair consists of a ladder-shaped frame that forms a tripod together with two legs; for the frame there is a walking ring, which can be struck around the front mast of a sloop and guides the movement of the frame when lifting and lowering for pointing and loading, and for which the light is equipped with a fall. A metal chamber with flint lock is mounted on each leg of the frame. The flint locks have tractors with holes for a tractor rope; the locks are also each other's reflection, one left-handed, the other right-handed. The heads of the rockets are placed under two brackets in the chambers, the stabilization rods are inserted on the legs of the frame by brackets.
