English woman with on her head a light blue 'Chiffonet' from Atlas (silk), trimmed with silver and silk fringes, decorated with a black curly feather and a white and yellow ostrich spring. Skirt of white muslin. Gown made of muslin in a Russian way. Long under sleeves of blue Atlas. Short upper sleeves, decorated with a large pearl. The whole thing trimmed with blue and silver fringes. Around the neck a fichu with diamond pin. Further accessories: diamond earrings, two pearl necklaces around the neck, belt, impeller, white with silver embroidered shoes. In the corresponding text of Taf. XXXIV is mentioned as the title: 'Eine Engländerin in Abendtracht an einem Badeorte, entweder in Margate oder Weymouth.' Copy after a print from the fashion magazine The Gallery of Fashion, published by Nicolaus Heideloff, 1794-1803.
