Modes et Manière d'Aujourd'hui, 1922, Pl. 4 : Amazone, Fernand Siméon, 1923 Canvas Print
A woman, standing by a balustrade, in an amazon costume (rich costume). She is putting on her glove. Whip under the arm. In the courtyard is a rider who takes off his hat. Next to his horse a greyhound. The print is part of a series of 12 woodcuts by Fernand Siméon, with texts by Paul Valery, for the seventh part (10th année 1922) of Modes et Manières d'Aujourd'hui. Each edition had a circulation of only 300 pieces and was exclusively dedicated to one artist who designed 12 prints around a certain theme. This series focuses on the 'life of the fashionable woman in society'.
