Bird's-eye view of Nagasaki Bay. On the left in front of the densely built-up city with the Chinese trading post in the middle left and next to it the Dutch trading branch on the fan-shaped island of Deshima. Central in bay Japanese ships. In the middle of a three-master with a Dutch flag with the number 37. On the left 4 Chinese junks with three masts. In front fishing vessels both with and without a mast. One carries a Dutch flag. Right and left behind hills, and at the top of the painting an air and open sea. At the exit of the bay a ship with a Dutch flag, shrouded in smoke and with 12 rowing boats in front of it. Image is stretched on side with wooden background; this framework is in small passepartout that is stretched with gray textile; glass in front of it. This whole is set in wooden lacquered frame. Black lacquerwork inlaid with mother-of-pearl in leaf and flower motifs. Along the edge of glass is gold lacquerwork. Reverse: black wooden board with two vertical slots.
