Numbered 1 to 4. Top left (1): Shooting of the polar bear that had attacked two sailors, September 6, 1595. In the background the ships off the coast. Lower left (2): Shooting and skinning of a polar bear at the Behouden Huys, 12 February 1597. Top right (3): The ship jammed and lifted by the ice, August 27 - September 1, 1596. The crew brings the sloop and provisions ashore. Bottom right (4): The sloop crushed by the sliding ice is unloaded again, 1 July 1597.
