Kabuki actor Sawamura Sôjûrô III in the role of Oda Izuminosuke dances with a bamboo branch in his hand. His trousers with long, dragging trouser legs on the floor, have a pattern of chrysanthemums. The flying cranes on the top of his costume are lucky symbols. This print depicts a scene from the play Keisei Ide no Yamabuki, performed in the Nakamura theatre on June 6, 1787.
