Portrait of pastor Anton Haeseck, Joannes van de Berg, 1600 - 1699 Canvas Print
Portrait of pastor Anton Haeseck in oval frame with laurel wreath and olive branches. The inscription gives some special facts from the life of this man that are not based on truth. He was the first parish priest of Geulle in the diocese of Liège and practiced this profession there for 100 years. He died at the age of 125 in 1586. The bishop of Liège asked Haeseck how he had reached that advanced age. Haeseck replied that he had refrained from three things: from women, from drunkenness and from indigity.
