Rembrandt room as seen from the southwest. To improve the lighting of the Night Watch, a heavy velum was installed in 1886, the painting was hung lower. On the south wall hung the Night Watch with two large columns on either side. On the back wall a large regent piece by B. van der Helst. In the hall are two long benches with their original upholstery, in 1895 it was replaced by leather. In frieze a part of the text: 'Rembrandt, son of Harmen Gerritsen van Rijn and van Neeltgen Willemsdochter van Suydtbrouck- born at the Weddesteeg in Leiden ...' (de Stuers p. 35). the cove frame is provided with decorative paintings.
