Room of the Amsterdamsch Museum of the Royal Antiquarian Society (KOG) in the Oudemanhuispoort, 1877 Canvas Print
This museum was founded in the Oudemanhuispoort, after the closure of the Historical Exhibition of Amsterdam in 1876 and contained, among other things, the collection of the Royal Antiquarian Society. It was only opened for a few months (from 22 January to 6 March 1877) and had to give way to an exhibition of paintings. It was not until 1926 that another Amsterdam Historical Museum would be opened in the Waag. The KOG found shelter at the Rijksmuseum.
