Satire on a balloonist, anonymous, 1784 - 1785 Canvas Print
Satire on the balloonist, possibly on Barthélemy Faujas de Saint-Fond who published in 1783-84 about the flights of the Montgolfier brothers. Man walks on ice skates across the country towards gate 'temple du gout'. Two hot air balloons on his head. On his back hangs a rat-eaten copy of his book 'Recherches sur les volcans éteints du Vivarais et du Velay' of 1778.
