Sixteenth movement (edge work, part top left) of a print of the siege of the huguenot stronghold La Rochelle in the years 1627 and 1628, which was commissioned by the French king by the French army under the command of Cardinal Richelieu. On this sheet on the left the coat of arms of Louis XIII and center/right a representation (surrounded by military attributes) of inhabitants of La Rochelle begging the king for mercy. At the top right the letters 'OBSID', part of the inscription of the print.
