The stained-glass window in the Sint-Janskerk in Gouda with the performance: Freedom of Conscience triumphs over Tyranny. On a chariot, the Dutch government sits in the gudy of Minerva and Freedom of Conscience. They cross the Tyranny. The chariot is drawn by the personifications of Steadfastness, Love, Unity, Justice and Faithfulness. The performance is surrounded by the coats of arms of cities in the Zuiderkwartier of the States of Holland. These cities are the donors of the stained-glass window to the city of Gouda. At the bottom a cartouche with a ten-line text in Dutch. Stained glass window by glazier Adriaan Gerritsz. the Vrije designed by Wtewael from 1595-1596 and placed in 1597.
