Table clock, N. Weylandt, c. 1730 - c. 1750 Canvas Print
Table clock glued with turtle on nuts core. It rests on articulated flat silver feet, has a profiled plinth frame and a cushion-shaped crowning with silver handle. The door is arched at the top. The silver dial has female figures in the corners, symbolizing the four continents, and in the arc acanthusranks with instruments on either side of a solar and monthly stand indication. The copper hands are openwork and gilded. In the middle an indication of day and date and on a cartouche, surrounded by openwork acanthusranken, the signature N. Weylandt Amsterdam. The sides have arched sawn-out openings at the top, which show on a green fabric openwork, silver fillings with acanthus vines, a dolphin and trophies of musical instruments. The clock plays different traits. At the rear a door as at the front, so that part of the movement and the engraved back plate, which is also provided with the signature, is visible.
