On a slightly ascending, rocky bottom, over which lies a turf, and in front of a low rock face, on which stands a fence of braided twigs, Mary kneels with folded hands and with the gaze on the child in front of her. Left behind a kneeling, a standing angel; both turn to the child; on the right a angel kneeling in adoration. Behind this joseph stands on a low stone elevation, which seems to be part of the building next to him. He holds a burning candle in the left hand, which he saves from blowing out with the right. Two shepherds emerge behind a fence braided from toes, as well as the heads of ox and donkey. The left shepherd rests with one hand on the fence, over which lies a slip of his cloak, the other he holds out gesturing in front of him; the second shepherd had a stick in his left hand, while with the right he holds his weitas by the belt. On the right, a staircase with round steps leads to a gate (?), crowned by a crept trans around a very pointed roof. Maria's separated hair falls down in waves and disappears under the cloak, which is incorporated under the right arm and hangs open from the front, so that her dress folded out of the round neckline becomes visible. The angels bear amict and albe, the standing angel another dalmatian; the angel on the right over the albe a blowing cloak, a slip of which hangs between the right arm and the body to the ground; Joseph a kaproen with drooping lamfer; due to the opening of his cloak, the tunic, a knife in the sheath on his right side and the shoes are visible. The left shepherd, in tunic and with a hat of fur, has closed the cloak at the neck with a knot, the other wears a hat over his capon, a tunic, a weitas, canteen and knife (?). Under the bottom a plinth with corners chamfered at the front.
