The Prayer for the Meal, Robert de Baudous (possibly), 1591 - 1659 Canvas Print
In a living room, a family sits at a set table, praying for the meal. The parents and the eldest daughter are seated, the four younger children are standing. The smallest child is on the mother's lap. On the left is a servant with a bowl. On the right a doorway to the garden. At the door grows a grape vine, this symbol refers to the mother of the family as a fertile vine (psalm 128). The children are compared to olive shoots (the plants are displayed behind the children).
