The State and Spanish armies face each other on the beach at Nieuwpoort, the beginning of the battle of Nieuwpoort, 2 July 1600. Large representation on three sheets, on the left the State Army under Maurits, on the right the Spanish troops under Albrecht, in the middle a narrow bound leaf with two verses, hereby the Dutch Lion opposite an Austrian eagle. At the top left and right cartouches with inscriptions of 2 lines in Latin. A separately printed time verse is glued at the bottom.
